From grill badges to digital collectibles

POAP Studio partnered with Porsche US to design a collectible program for 150 exclusive owners. The insight: this community already collects grill badges and attendance stickers at every event. They didn't need to learn to collect they needed a digital format that matched the ritual.

At every event, owners now receive two collectibles — one physical badge for the car, one digital proof of attendance. Together, they create a parallel collection that tracks each member's journey within the community.

Collectors by nature, digital by design

Porsche owners already have a collecting culture — grill badges, attendance stickers, event memorabilia. The challenge was to add a digital layer that felt equally valuable and earned, without disrupting the rituals they've built over years.

Porsche community grill badges and collectibles

Every event, two collectibles

01

At every event, owners receive a unique digital collectible — a verified proof of attendance that lives alongside their physical badge collection.

02

Each digital collectible is paired with a physical grill badge, creating a phygital collection where both formats reinforce the same story.

03

Collection size becomes status. Owners track and compare their event history, turning participation into a visible mark of community standing.

Porsche digital and physical collectible pairing

Porsche proved that collectors don't need convincing — they need the right format. When digital and physical sit side by side, participation becomes identity.

Results

Collectors showing off, community leveling up

Owners actively display their digital collections alongside physical grill badges — the phygital pairing became a point of pride, not a novelty.

Collection depth became a competitive signal. Owners track and compare event histories, turning community engagement into visible, earned status.

Porsche US gained a replicable model for exclusive owner programs — a blueprint for communities where physical tradition and digital proof reinforce each other.
